Dear Kakashka
July 2009

Take a Tiki tour Downunder!

Whether you're a local or a visitor, our latest stamp issue will take you to places in New Zealand you may never have been to before!

The successor to our hugely popular 'A to Z' stamp issue of 2008, A Tiki Tour of New Zealand is the Kiwi 'scenic route' - a road trip from the Far North to the Deep South, popping in for a cuppa (tea) at the country's iconic sights, landmarks and experiences along the way. In 24 stamps, you'll find out just what New Zealand is made of, and more!

Take a look at our website and you'll soon see what I mean. A treasure trove of oddities and idiosyncrasies (in the people as well as the places!), the collection includes Taihape's gumboot, Pania of the Reef, the Wind Wand (and a wind farm), Pancake Rocks, Mackenzie's dog and the amazing boulders at Moeraki.

Artistically displayed as a map of New Zealand and with each stamp containing its very own over-glossed fern, this sheet of stamps is a fantastic collectable, as are the three first day covers - and both products come with an A1 poster!

This collection is a wonderful gift idea for people young and old (buy now and you'll be ready for Christmas), or use this as a great opportunity to get younger members of your family interested in stamps. Or how about collecting used stamps and combining them to make your own Tiki tour map?

A Tiki tour is all about enjoying the journey as much as the destination, and this one is a winner. I know you, and thousands of other collectors and Kiwis, will love it, so we have decided to keep the stamps on sale for two years. Place your order today to begin your Tiki tour from the comfort of your own stamp collection.

Yours sincerely

Matariki 2009 - Heitiki

matariki 2009

24 June 2009 signaled the start of 'Matariki' - the dawn of a new Maori year. Traditionally a time for renewal, reflection and celebration, Matariki is also a time to honour Maori culture as a key influence on, and an integral part of, New Zealand's sense of nationhood.

This year New Zealand Post honours heitiki as an icon of Maori art - past and present. Expressed as images in six self-adhesive stamps, the collection also includes two first day covers, a gummed miniature sheet, a presentation pack and - in a rare collector's opportunity - a prestigious and meticulously designed and documented Limited Edition.

2009 Scenic Definitives

Join us, and you'll catch a tantalising glimpse of our country's stunning natural environments and sophisticated urban landscapes - these stamps help explain why New Zealand is a 'must see' destination for almost 2.5 million visitors every year.

The new stamps reflect a change to the required postage for international mail. Featuring six landmarks from the north of
New Zealand to the south, they are superb collectables as well as picturesque additions to letters and parcels destined for others' shores. They're hot off the press - so buy yours today!
