With the stamp series depicting Greenlandic mining history - which will span over five to six years - it is the intention to give an understanding of this development, from the early hopeful attempts right up to the present day industry. The stamp series will begin with examples from the first mines, where mining was attempted on an industrial scale. This occurred some 150 years ago. Ina Rosing has created the beautiful art on the stamps. The stamps are the first ones in Greenland to be issued entirely as self-adhesives. | Expeditions VIII | We continue the very popular expedition's series with two stamps. The acclaimed Expedition series by Martin Mörck, this time, pays tribute to the Briton John Ross and the Greenlander Hans Sakæus' common Arctic endeavours in 1818. The stamps come in normal sheets, a souvenir sheet, and a beautiful souvenir folder.
